Utopai Studios is a story-first, AI-fluent entertainment studio headquartered in Mountain View, California. It makes original animated, cinematic stories and builds PAI, the production engine behind them. Utopai Studios APAC is its Asia-focused production arm, covering Korea and Japan.
We believe storytellers should have the infrastructure to take ambitious ideas all the way to the screen. PAI helps close the gap between creative vision and final production, giving filmmakers greater control over characters, worlds, performance, and picture throughout long-form production.

2022
Founded in 2022 as Cybever, the company began as an AI research company focused on procedural content generation and high-fidelity 3D environments for gaming and previsualization. That early work in structured, controllable 3D became a foundation for the production technology Utopai would develop in the years that followed.

2024
In 2024, we launched 3D-EnGen, advancing our work in 3D spatial reasoning and layout intelligence. By building high-quality, editable 3D scenes, we developed deeper control over spatial context, object relationships, and camera blocking. That work connected our 3D foundation to cinematic production and became an important step toward the visual storytelling technology Utopai develops today.
2025
From Previz-to-Video to Cinematic Production
In 2025, we extended our 3D foundation into Previz-to-Video, translating rough 3D previsualizations into cinematic video with shot-level control. That work brought spatial reasoning, camera blocking, visual continuity, and generative video into a more connected production workflow, becoming an important step toward the technology behind PAI today.That same year, Cybever became Utopai Studios, reflecting the company’s evolution from AI research toward cinematic storytelling and production.
2026
Studio + Engine
In 2026, Utopai brought its research, cinematic workflows, and production technology together in PAI, our Production Assistive Intelligence engine for creative production. This included the development of a script analysis model used within PAI’s agentic layer, helping the system understand and organize the work behind a production.
At the same time, the studio expanded its film and television slate with projects including Cortés, Half Moon, and The Most Serious Fart, putting Utopai’s evolving production approach to work on real stories.
Utopai also brought its Asia-focused operations under the broader Utopai umbrella, including Seoul-based Alquimista Media, its Korea-based creative team, and an active slate of 15 scripted series and features. With the studio, global productions, and production engine under one roof, each project can sharpen PAI while PAI expands what storytellers can bring to the screen.
