Variety reported exclusively that the pilot episodes of Space Nation and Kira, two series produced by Ex Machina Studios, would have their world premieres at MIPCOM in Cannes. Utopai Studios co-produces Space Nation together with Globoplay.
According to the report, the pilots were due to screen for buyers on October 12 and 13 at the Cinéma Les Arcades, with K5 International handling worldwide sales for both series. Space Nation comprises eight episodes of about 45 minutes each. Marco Weber and Martin Weisz created it, Weisz directs all eight episodes, and Vanessa Coifman wrote it, with Weber and Coifman as executive producers.
Variety also recounts the series’ path to market: Space Nation was first introduced to buyers at MIPCOM in 2025, and in May 2026 Globoplay, the streaming service of Globo, joined as co-producer and acquired Brazilian rights, making it a Globoplay Original. Read the full report at Variety.
