Utopai Studios is a story-first, AI-fluent entertainment studio headquartered in Mountain View, California. It makes original animated, cinematic stories and builds PAI, the production engine behind them. Utopai East is its Asia-focused production arm, covering Korea and Japan.
We believe storytellers should have the infrastructure to take ambitious ideas all the way to the screen. PAI helps close the gap between creative vision and final production, giving filmmakers greater control over characters, worlds, performance, and picture throughout long-form production.

In 2026, Utopai East acquired Seoul-based Alquimista Media, adding an active slate of 15 scripted series and features and a Korea-based creative team.

2022
Founded in 2022 as Cybever, Utopai Studios began as an AI research company pioneering procedural content generation. Our first focus was automating large-scale, high-fidelity 3D environment creation, setting a new standard for efficiency in gaming and previsualization. That work in structured, controllable 3D is the foundation the Utopai pipeline is built on today.

2024
In 2024, we launched 3D-EnGen, establishing our core expertise in 3D spatial reasoning and layout intelligence. By constructing high-quality, editable 3D scenes, we decoded how spatial context, object relationships, and camera blocking form the backbone of visual storytelling. This work led to a key insight: a robust 3D foundation is the most powerful starting point for cinematic video generation.
2025
From Previz-to-Video to our Cinematic Workflow
We extended our 3D foundation into the industry’s first Previz-to-Video pipeline, transforming rough 3D pre-visualizations into cinematic-quality video with shot-level control. Through this work, we mastered the translation of 3D structure and shot grammar into cohesive storytelling. This evolution culminated in our Cinematic Foundation Model. Engineered for multi-shot reasoning, identity consistency, and script-to-screen understanding, this model unified our 3D expertise with generative video, creating a truly cinema-native production engine.
2026
Building the Cinema-Native Production System
Leveraging our proprietary production data and accumulated industry experience, by 2026,, we unified our pipelines into a comprehensive, end-to-end production system. This system enables creators to plan, generate, and iterate across full sequences while maintaining strict control over identity, style, and narrative intent.
For us, Cinematic AI is not just about a single successful output. It is a structured system that preserves creative vision across time, shots, and teams.
