Cecilia Shen

Cecilia Shen is Co-Founder and CEO of Utopai Studios, a story-first entertainment studio bringing filmmaking, production, and AI technology under one roof. Under her leadership, Utopai develops original and partnered film and television while building PAI, its Production Assistive Intelligence engine, to support the creative process and expand what storytellers can bring to the screen.

Shen is shaping Utopai around a model where real production and technology development strengthen one another. The studio’s productions and partnerships inform the evolution of PAI, while the engine gives filmmakers greater control across characters, worlds, camera, and production workflows. This integrated approach allows Utopai to advance both the craft and the infrastructure behind it.

At the center of Shen’s vision is the belief that technology should serve storytellers, not lead them. Through Utopai’s growing slate, global partnerships, and continued development of PAI, she is building a studio designed to support ambitious storytelling while keeping taste, direction, and creative authorship in human hands.
